BAMT is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, respectful and equitable environment and experience for all conference participants. This Code of Conduct affirms BAMT’s zero-tolerance stance on any form of harassment, bullying, discrimination, or exclusionary behaviour.
Purpose and Principles
BAMT aims to create a safe and professional space where all participants can engage in meaningful dialogue, exchange ideas and build connections. This Code of Conduct applies to all participants: attendees, presenters, facilitators, organisers, sponsors & exhibitors.

Expected behaviour
- Participants are expected to:
- Engage in the conference with courtesy, professionalism and mutual respect.
- Listen actively and contribute thoughtfully to discussions.
- Use inclusive language and be mindful of diverse perspectives.
- Support and uplift contributions from underrepresented groups.
- Uphold the confidentiality and privacy of other participants where appropriate.
- Respect others’ identities, including names, pronouns and cultural references.
- Follow the guidance of BAMT staff, session chairs and volunteers.
- Respect others’ approaches and level of experience.
- Ensure that any online interaction including chat, Q&A, and social media engagement is respectful and relevant.
Unacceptable behaviour
- Harassment, including unwelcome verbal, written, or visual conduct Bullying, such as repeated or aggressive behaviour intended to intimidate, offend, degrade, or humiliate.
- Discrimination, including exclusionary behaviour or bias based on race, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, religion, national origin or other protected characteristics.
- Sexual harassment, including unwanted advances, suggestive remarks or inappropriate messages or images
- Disruptive behaviour, including trolling, persistent interruption, silencing or hijacking of sessions or discussions.
- Unauthorised recording or distribution of conference content or private communications.
- Retaliation against individuals who report inappropriate behaviour or participate in investigations.
- Posting inappropriate or offensive materials in chat,social media or other conference spaces.
Virtual Etiquette
- To maintain a respectful and effective virtual environment, participants must:
- Use professional and inclusive language at all times.
- Mute microphones when not speaking and avoid disruptions.
- Participate using your chosen name.
- Not record or screen capture without explicit consent.
- Use conference platforms for professional engagement only—spam, self-promotion, marketing or off-topic comments are prohibited, with exceptions for exhibitors sharing marketing content as part of their agreed sponsorship package.
Reporting Concerns
Participants who witness or experience conduct that violates this Code of Conduct are encouraged to report it as soon as possible. Reports can be made confidentially by contacting:

All reports will be taken seriously and handled sensitively and confidentially. BAMT is committed to fair and prompt resolution and may consult with appropriate legal or institutional authorities as necessary.
Consequences of Breach
BAMT reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to violations of this Code, which may include:
- Issuing a warning
- Removing the participant from the conference without refund
- Restricting access to future events
